About the Committee
Some wars are remembered not merely as clashes between armies, but as turning points that shaped the future of civilizations. The Talas War, fought in 751 AD, was a decisive confrontation between the Tang Dynasty of China and the Abbasid Caliphate over influence in Central Asia. Yet its consequences reached far beyond the battlefield, transforming political borders, trade routes, cultural exchange, and the course of world history.
In this Joint Crisis Committee, delegates will be placed at the heart of history, assuming the roles of decision-makers before and during the conflict. On one side stands the expanding power of the Tang Empire from the East; on the other, the rising influence of the Abbasid Caliphate from the West. Between them lie Turkic tribes, the Karluks, merchants, spies, and local rulers struggling to preserve their own interests.
Delegates will not only command armies, but also negotiate alliances, prevent betrayals, manage resources, and navigate the fragile balance of power in the region. Every directive may alter the fate of empires, and every decision may rewrite history itself.
Will the Tang Dynasty secure its dominance over the Silk Road? Will the Abbasids establish a new era of influence in Central Asia? Or will unexpected actors seize the opportunity to shape their own destiny?
The future of Eurasia is in your hands.
