Responding to the regional and global implications of the Iran-US conflict
About the Committee
Some crises begin far beyond Europe's borders, yet their consequences are felt in every European capital. The conflict between the United States and Iran has the potential to reshape global energy markets, disrupt trade routes, trigger migration flows, intensify security threats, and test the unity of the European Union. In an interconnected world, regional tensions can quickly become continental challenges.
In this European Council committee, delegates will represent the leaders of Europe's member states as they confront one of the most pressing geopolitical dilemmas of our time: responding to the regional and global implications of the Iran-US conflict.
Delegates must balance diplomacy with security, economic stability with strategic autonomy, and national interests with collective European action. They will debate sanctions, energy resilience, maritime security, humanitarian assistance, refugee management, and Europe's role as a mediator in preventing further escalation. Internal divisions among member states may prove just as challenging as the crisis itself.
Will Europe speak with one voice in a moment of uncertainty? Will diplomacy and unity preserve stability across the continent? Or will external conflict deepen internal fractures within the Union?
The future of Europe's leadership is in your hands.
